Hari Tanpa Kereta ini bertujuan untuk mempromosikan gaya hidup yang lebih lestari dengan menggalakkan kita semua mengurangkan kebergantungan... kepada kenderaan bermotor. Melalui inisiatif ini, kita dapat meningkatkan kesedaran tentang manfaat menggunakan pengangkutan alternatif seperti berbasikal, berjalan kaki, atau pengangkutan awam yang mampu mengurangkan pelepasan karbon dengan ketara.

Pemanasan global adalah satu isu besar yang semakin mendesak. Ia berlaku akibat pelepasan gas rumah hijau yang berlebihan dan memberi kesan besar kepada alam sekitar, iklim, dan kehidupan seharian kita. Sebab itu, kita semua perlu memainkan peranan untuk mengatasinya kerana usaha bersama akan membawa perubahan yang lebih bermakna.

Tindakan mudah seperti menggunakan kenderaan cekap tenaga, memilih tenaga boleh diperbaharui, mengamalkan gaya hidup mesra alam, dan menyokong inisiatif seperti Hari Tanpa Kereta sebenarnya mampu memberi kesan besar. This morning, together with the Land and Survey Department, JKR, and MCC, we visited Kampung Lereng Bukit to meet with the JKKK and residents. Many thanks to Ayahanda Penghulu Haji Samad and KK Aminudin for organising the meeting to discuss alternative road access for houses near the hillside.

In the past, during their grandparents’ time, the front lot owners had given verbal consent for hillside residents to use their land for access. However, over time, with changes in ownership or land being sold to new owners, these arrangements were no longer recognised. The landowners now wish to further develop their property, leaving hillside residents without access.

I have requested JKR to take the lead in engaging with the relevant agencies to explore alternative solutions and ensure proper road access for the affected residents.

Thank you, my Dear media friends, for the coverage. Through the Kenyalang Gold Card and Senior Citizen Health Benefit (KGC and SCHB) registration program held on 14th-15th September and 9th-10th November, we successfully assisted over 4,000 senior citizens with their applications.
