The 5th Datuk Sebastian\u2019s Education and Career Fair 2026 has officially come to an end.
\n
\n Looking back, we never imagined that we would reach the 5th edition, but this journey has been truly meaningful, not just in organising an event, but in building friendships, partnerships, and a ...<\/a>shared mission to serve our community.
\n
\n This year, we introduced a new element > the District Level General Knowledge Competition, organised together with PPD Miri. It was a great experience, although it came with its own challenges, particularly in terms of technical requirements and internet connectivity. These are valuable lessons, and we will definitely improve and come back stronger next year.
\n
\n We are also grateful to continue the SPM Incentive Programme, now in its second year, where 129 students who achieved 9A and above received recognition and support. Thanks to our sponsors SOCOE Sdn Bhd, MMS Miri and Datuk Sebastian. With God\u2019s blessing and the availability of funds, we hope to extend this initiative to benefit even more students in the coming years.
\n
\n In terms of impact:
\n \ud83c\udf93 Education Fair \u2013 Over 800 registered students and more than 1,300 parents attended to seek information and guidance.
\n \ud83d\udcbc Career Fair \u2013 A total of 730 job opportunities were offered by 31 companies, resulting in 1,344 interviews conducted.
\n \u2714\ufe0f 43 candidates secured jobs on the spot
\n \ud83d\udccc 515 candidates were shortlisted for second interviews
\n \ud83d\udcca 791 candidates were unsuccessful and something we will work closely with PERKESO to analyse and improve moving forward.
\n
\n These numbers reflect not just participation, but real opportunities and real outcomes for our community.
\n
\n I would like to express my utmost gratitude to YB Datuk Sebastian for his trust and continuous support in allowing me to organise this meaningful event for the people of Miri.
\n
\n My sincere appreciation also goes to the organising committees from MEIS and SUPP Miri (Piasau) Youth Branch, as well as all volunteers including those from Curtin Volunteers and other organisations for your dedication and hard work.

\n We remain committed to doing more for our future generations, which is why we have continued to organise the 5th edition of Datuk Sebastian\u2019s Education and Career Fair this year.

\n It is our sincere hope that all Form 5 and Form 6 students who attended today were able to gain valuable insights, discover new opportunities, and have a clearer direction on what they want to pursue in their future.

\n At the same time, we recognise that not every student\u2019s pathway is the same.
